In the wintertime the children's ski-school is quiet close to the house and the house and the transfer-bus to the ski-lift is free of charge. Die Milch liefern wir an die Aaremilch. Die jährliche Liefermenge beträgt 94‘000 Liter. Im Sommer sind die Tiere auf der Alp und aus der Milch wird Alpkäse hergestelllt. Der Ertrag beläuft sich ungefähr auf 1‘500kg.   Wir bewirtschaften 20ha Land in einem Umkreis von 5 Kilometern, zwischen 650 und 1‘500 Metern über Meer. Die Steillagen erlauben nicht überall den Einsatz von Maschinen, so dass vor allem beim Einbringen vom Heu auch Handarbeit notwendig ist. Wir produzieren nach IP-Suisse.   Sömmerung Die Alpen in Habkern sind genossenschaftlich organisiert. Das heisst, dass die Kühe von mehreren Betrieben auf eine Alp gebracht werden und das Alppersonal angestellt wird. Die Besetzer (Landwirte, welche die Kühe auf die Alp bringen) haben jedoch diverse Arbeiten auf der Alp zu erledigen: Räumen der Weiden, Zäune erstellen, holzen, Mist und Gülle ausbringen, Vieh zügeln und im Herbst Zäune wieder abbauen. Die Versorgung der Tiere und die Herstellung vom Käse erfolgt durch das Alppersonal.
